Suffering from loud snoring? Feel tired and less energetic throughout the day despite getting a full night’s rest? Experiencing daily headaches that you can’t explain?

At Miss Lou Family Dentistry, our sleep apnea dentist has been specially trained to offer advanced airway management treatment. If you feel like you’re experiencing sleep disordered breathing, we’ll work with you to diagnose and treat your sleep apnea to ensure you are breathing and sleeping safely.

Symptoms of sleep disordered breathing include:

  • KGrogginess and tiredness throughout the day
  • KIntense morning or daytime headaches
  • KDisruptive and loud nightly snoring
  • KSore throat and dry mouth when waking up

What is sleep disordered breathing?

Sleep disordered breathing is a medical condition that causes you to stop breathing momentarily while you’re sleeping. Generally, this is caused by an obstruction of some sort that is blocking your airway. This can happen hundreds of times throughout the night. When you stop breathing, you’ll often even momentarily wake up without even knowing.

Unlike many dental afflictions, sleep disordered breathing can fester for years without you having any idea that there is even a problem. While this may just seem like a minor inconvenience, it can actually be quite dangerous.

Some common side effects of sleep apnea include:

  • Sleep loss, which results in loss of energy and focus
  • High blood pressure
  • Heart disease and an increased likelihood of stroke
  • Weight gain

Sleep Dentistry from Miss-Lou Family Dentistry

At Miss Lou Dentistry, we want to do everything we can to ensure your optimal health and wellness. This includes making sure you are breathing and sleeping your very best.

Our sleep apnea treatment focuses on ensuring proper breathing. This is generally achieved by opening up your airway with an oral appliance to ensure a clean passageway and proper breathing throughout the night.

Dr. Casey Iverstine has been trained on the latest obstructive sleep apnea treatments and airway management procedures to ensure the best possible outcome.
