Our dental filling process
All treatment starts with a full explanation of your dental situation, followed by a consultation to determine the best treatment for you. We’ll ask you questions about your symptoms, perform an exam, and take x-rays to determine the state of your oral health.
For very small cavities, we may simply recommend a wait-and-see approach, where we give your body time to heal itself. If the cavity is large and painful, or is located in a hard-to-reach area, a filling will be recommended.
The steps of a dental filling procedure
- 1. We first numb the area with local anesthesia, ensuring a pain-free experience.
- 2. The tooth decay or old filling is cleaned.
- 3. We’ll fill the cleaned area with a composite filling material.
- 4. Then, we polish the filling, ensuring that it’s smooth and properly shaped.
- 5. A bite test will be next conducted to make sure the new filling hits the opposing teeth correctly.
- Finally, you walk out with restored teeth and renewed oral health!
